To create class, you must be logged in as a teacher. Once logged in, open the navigation drawer by clicking on your profile picture in the top left corner, the click on “Test-Mode”. On the next screen, you will see  list of all the classrooms you have created, if any. Press the “+” on the bottom to create a new class.

Test mode is used to prevent the use of other applications while a test is being conducted. Essentially, it turns your students’ phones into a calculator– everything else, including texting, phone calls and the internet, is blocked.

CustomCalc is used to control or modulate the functions students have access to during a test. For example, if you want your students to have access to everything except the “log” function, you can do so using CustomCalc.

Students can override the test mode in cases of emergencies, and the teacher will be immediately notified.

This is happening because your students have the Touch / Face ID settings on. To fix this, have them go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> (scroll down to) Guided Access -> Passcode Settings and make sure that “Touch ID” or “Face ID” is off.

Students must input the roster code on their app to join a class created by the teacher.

Once you have created a class and added your students, simply click “Start Test” towards the top of your screen to begin. More information can be found on our user guide.

Yes, we support lockdown on both Androids and iOS devices, including tablets and iPads.

Although a teacher can start a test from his/her computer, students cannot be locked down on their computer screen. So during a test, students can use a phone or tablet, while teachers can use a phone, a tablet or a computer.

ClassCalc’s test mode will prevent this issue by locking student phones on the calculator screen when a test is being conducted, preventing any outside distraction.

Please contact us at team@classcalc.com and we’ll help you make it happen.

Yes. So far, all teachers we’ve spoken to have permitted it and used it without issues. Please feel free to contact us if you would like us to speak with a teacher about using ClassCalc in his/her class.

For students, ClassCalc is $1/student/month. You can check our pricing table for more information.
